The quote by Maxime Lagace, “By discovering nature, you discover yourself”, sums up my personal journey beautifully. I am happiest and most at peace when I’m walking among the trees, or feel a connection with the earth as I work the soil in my gardens. I discovered my first hooked pillow in a small store in Muskoka when visiting a friend at her cottage. That moment kindled a tiny desire that sat untended for years until I found a beginner rug hooking class with Martina Lesar in Caledon. From that moment on, my passion for rug hooking ignited and lit up the artistic beast that had been laying silent inside of me. I hope you will get as much joy out of hooking these patterns as I have had in creating them. Enjoy the facts & figures you find along the way. Please let me know if you think any are inaccurate, because for me, rug hooking, the walks in nature and the facts I’ve shared are all about learning more about myself and the world in which we live.
